Teriyaki Mahi Mahi

Let’s face it; some nights you just want something sticky. Something sweet, yet savory. Something that’s a mouth punch of a meal and this one folks, this one is definitely that.

Mahi mahi is a great and much-beloved fish, but its firm meatiness makes it fantastic for the teriyaki treatment. This is a great and super simple recipe that’s perfect for weeknights or a little weekend entertaining. Serve alongside steamed rice and some roasted bok choy or broccoli and you’ve got yourself a perfect meal that’s well suited to a variety of occasions.

Teriyaki Mahi Mahi


Serves 4

  • 1½-2 lbs mahi-mahi fillets
  • 2 Tbsp canola oil
  • 2 Tbsp flour
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 Tbsp sesame seeds
  • 2 Tbsp teriyaki sauce
  • salt and pepper to taste
  • Juice of one lemon


  1. Dredge Mahi fillets in flour and sauté and in a large heavy sauté pan for 3-4 minutes per side over medium-high heat.
  2. Remove Mahi from pan, reduce heat to low and sauté garlic 1-2 minutes until soft but not browned.
  3. Add all other ingredients, simmer 3-5 minutes and pour sauce over fish.
